UPDATE: I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SITE ANY MORE after getting this message from the site admin.
“Although we appreciate the post you wrote about Diyhound, we’re a little worried it will attract the wrong kind of users to Diyhound. “
I guess they can stick to auto scraping ehow for article snippets. All they offer the user is a link, while they get free submitted content to earn off of. There are other good alternatives that welcome actual humans and reward them.
Thanks to alert ehow writer veryirie I discovered DIYHound.com as a resource to create backlinks. The site seems to be based in Kansas City, is free to join and very easy to use. It is basically a stripped down version of SheToldMe.com so I’m going to highlight the similarities and differences. If you don’t know about SheToldMe please read this article for exactly how to use SheToldMe.
1. DIYHuund.com is using what appears to be the same software as SheToldMe. The look, feel and function are very similar
2. Signup procedure is very similar: Pick a Username, Password and verify identity by email. Nothing else is needed.
3. On SheToldMe there is a manual member verification step before you can submit scoops. On DIYHound.com you get a confirmation email immediately and can start submitting scoops immediately but there seems to be a manual verification step before your scoops publish automatically.
3. On SheToldMe.com you Publish – On DIYHOund you Submit a Story. Submit a Story is the top left button after you are logged in – same spot as the Login Button before you log in.
4. Scoop URL, Title, and Description are all the same except that (as this is written):
DIYHound requires Minimum 50 characters and Maximum 400 charactors
SheToldMe requires Minimum 200 characters and Maximum 5000 charactors
5. DIYHound has a bot called robodiy that is building links to eHow (short summaries and a link), scraping WikiHow content in whole, and aggregating from a variety of other sites. (Attention robodiy – Innovative Passive Income is right HERE!!)
6. SheToldMe is ad heavy while DIYHound is very light on ads.
The biggest differences are:
Feature SheToldMe DIYHound
Link to your scoop (website page)aaaaaaa Yes aaaaaaaaaaa Yes
Link to your homepage aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaYes aaaaaaaaaaaaaaNo
100% Adsense (1 of three ad blocks) aaaaaYes aaaaaaaaaaaaa No
Referral Program (1 of three ad blocks) aa Yes aaaaaaaaaaaaa No
100% Chitika Revenue aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaYes aaaaaaaaaaaaa No
Looking for donations to reduce the ads aaNo aaaaaaaaaaaaaYes
Obviously the better site to use is SheToldMe, but if you already linked your article from SheToldMe and Xomba (sites where you can earn from the bookmarks), than consider going for a quick link at DIYHound for an extra boast of link juice.
Be sure to read this guide to SheToldMe for a full explanation of SheToldMe (much of which would apply to DIYHound).

Niiice! How do you find the time to check out so many cool & helpful things, Jade?
Thanks for sharing this with us.
In this case I spotted a forum thread at eHow and decided to check it out. I built a few scoops to some of my how to articles to properly understand the system. There are pretty much no serious users there yet – it is VERY new.
